Prior to forming Ratava Partners, Sal spent five years with Avaya as their GM/VP of Avaya’s Global Support Services (GSS) business where he transformed a $5B market leader in IP telephony and telecommunication solutions to a next generation capability company that could scale and grow globally. In addition he has held numerous senior leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies such as Oracle, Fujitsu, and others. Sal also partners with entrepreneurial startups, corporations, and Boards of Directors to build “Operational Centers of Excellence”, sharing best practices that lead to operating profitable organizations. RHV Capital, LLC (“RHV”) was formed by the principals of HV Capital Investors, LLC (“HVCI”) for the purpose of investing in search funds. Paul D. Rogers
Paul Rogers is currently a Partner at HV Capital Investors, LLC and RHV Capital, LLC, which focuses on debt and equity investments in private companies, respectively. Prior to that, Paul worked for 22 years in the financial services industry with CIBC and its predecessor company, Wood Gundy Inc. Bob Dahl is a founding Member of Arrowhawk Capital Partners, an investment management firm which manages a multi-strategy, institutionally-focused fund. From April 1999 until June 2006, Mr. Dahl served as the head of Global Healthcare for the Carlyle Group, a leading private equity firm with over $50 billion of equity under management, where he was responsible for the firm’s investments in the healthcare field. During his tenure at Carlyle, Mr. Dahl served on the investment committee of the U.S. buyout funds, including the $7.9 billion Carlyle Partners IV and the $3.9 billion Carlyle Partners III funds. Christoph has over 15 years of leadership experience in the enterprise-software space in various operational roles in customer support and development. Prior to that, Christoph was worldwide Development Support Manager in the GBU Commerce, responsible for SAP SRM. In his role as President, Gerald is responsible for Asurion's day-to-day operations, customer service, and financial and strategic performance. Gerald is a long serving member of the Asurion management team who brings a wealth of business, entrepreneurial and financial leadership skills to his role. He joined Asurion's management team as CFO in 1999 and has helped Asurion achieve rapid growth since that time. Prior to joining Asurion, Gerald worked as an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco, Hong Kong and New York. Mr. Ellis is a Lecturer in Management at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He is currently teaching two strategic management courses that center around the early stages of the entrepreneurial process. Mr. Ellis takes a personal interest and enjoys participating in and contributing to the learning process faced by each of his students. Prior to coming to Stanford, Mr. Ellis held a number of positions with both large and small companies. In 1995, Mr. Ellis cofounded Asurion with Kevin Taweel to provide value-added solutions for the wireless communications industry. Previously responsible for Asurion’s sales and marketing efforts, Mr. Ellis is an active member of the company’s board of directors. Jose Stella Somoza most recently was the co-founder and president of VIU Media, Puerto Rico’s largest locally-owned outdoor advertising company, which was sold to Lamar Advertising. Prior to becoming president of VIU Media, he was the co-founder and president of Quest Management Corporation, a private equity group formed to identify, acquire, and operate a company in Puerto Rico. Previously, Mr. Stella worked at KPMG Peat Marwick in the middle-market Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory Group. He also worked for UBS and Chase Manhattan Bank. Mr. Stella received the 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Puerto Rico and currently serves as a director of Rocket Learning, LLC and Centros Sor Isolina Ferre, the largest Puerto Rico based not-for-profit organization. Kent Weaver is currently Chairman and CEO of Progressive Home Care, a Northern California-based health care company. Rafael Somoza most recently was the co-founder and CEO of VIU Media, Puerto Rico's largest locally-owned outdoor advertising company, which was sold to Lamar Advertising. Sandro Mina is a co-founding Managing Director of Sverica International and is based in the Boston office. Mr. Mina also serves on the board of the Swedish School of Boston. He was previously President and CEO of Cameraworld.com, one of Sverica's pre-fund portfolio companies. In earlier careers, Mr. Mina worked in the public and private sectors in a number of industries, including technology (United Nations Computing Centre and Storage Technology), banking (Citibank, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and VISA) and telecommunications (consultant for a large European company). Tim Ludwig is Managing Partner at Ohana Capital, a private equity firm that invests in search funds and profitable lower middle-market companies. Prior to founding Ohana Capital, Mr. Ludwig was President of a privately-held, commercial real estate company where he oversaw projects totaling over $150 million in value and led teams in asset management, acquisitions, and dispositions. Currently a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and Co-Head of the Equity Department for the Americas as well as responsible for equity capital markets risk globally. In addition to these roles, he is the co chair for the committee that governs and commits capital to illiquid equity exposures (such as financial market structure holdings and pre-IPO exposures) for the Investment Bank. After graduating from Yale with a BA in Economics, he started his career at Citadel Investments in Chicago focusing on convertible bond arbitrage strategies, convertible credit trading, and equity derivatives trading. Todd moved from Citadel to Credit Suisse in Hong Kong where he spent 9 years and held a number of roles in the Credit Suisse Equity Department culminating with responsibility for all of the bank's equity derivatives and convertibles business as well as equity trading and execution across Asia Pacific. In 2006 Todd relocated to New York with Credit Suisse where he assumed global responsibility for equity share trading across block trading, program trading, electronic trading, syndicate block risk, as well as the convertible bond group in 2007 prior to moving into his current role in 2009.
